Tell us about your role at Wood

I am currently a mechanical engineering apprentice at SAGE with Wood since November 2017. During my time with Wood I have completed my ECITB apprenticeship, gaining my SVQ 3 in Mechanical Engineering. I have gained lots of hands on experience and skills in my chosen discipline to allow me to complete this.

When you reflect on your career at Wood what makes you most proud?

Gaining my apprenticeship certificates, as this now gives me the opportunity to possibly secure a permanent job in the industry.

What would you tell your friends about working at Wood?

Wood has given me with the opportunity to complete my apprenticeship and gain skills and knowledge in the mechanical field. Everyone here has been helpful along the way. Colleagues are really friendly and welcoming to the site and enjoyable to work with. I have enjoyed gaining the hands-on experience on site.

What would you tell someone considering an apprenticeship at Wood?

Apprenticeships help get your feet in the door of the industry and help your chances of gaining a job in the future. Also any girls wary of entering the industry, don’t be afraid, there is no such thing as a man’s job.
