Tell us about your role at Wood

I started at Wood at the tender age of 15 years old. I progressed as a trainee to a deputy supervisor in the electronic publishing department, supporting various multimedia projects and spending some time in Houston. I was then seconded to a project as an HSE assistant followed by a project coordination role where I was responsible for project controls, planning and co-ordination of work in our operations and maintenance team.

Following this I worked in various global roles as an operations coordinator and account manager, successfully delivering improvements and innovations. I’ve been in business development now for over 3 years supporting customers on a global basis.

When you reflect on your career at Wood what makes you most proud?

Winning some key strategic opportunities for the business and being focused on developing my skill set and learning every day!

I’m also proud to work for a FTSE 100 company which is headquartered in Aberdeen, as I’m born and raised in Aberdeen. There aren’t many global companies in Aberdeen the size of Wood.

What would you tell your friends about working at Wood?

I enjoy the work and the opportunity to make your own chosen path possible. We have great people who are willing to support you in various areas of development and share their knowledge. We also have a flexible approach to work and good benefits in the UK.

What excites you about your future at Wood?

Our broad range of services and solutions which can be applied to multiple sectors and industries. I’ve met and learnt so much in several new areas since the creation of Wood which is really exciting for me. This will allow me to meet more people, create more opportunities and grow the business on a global level. On a personal note by carrying this out I’ll hopefully be able to visit more companies in more countries to share the Wood story.
